[It's been a while since Harry was on the Pokegear network, but today he can be seen walking along Route 35 with an Old Rod over his shoulder, heading towards the small patch of water that rumors say is now teaming with water types. He's been meaning to get one for a while now; staying in Goldenrod is fine, but if the need to leave ever arises, he'd like to be able to get farther than the weird tree-thing.]

[The one immediate oddity about this particular video is the angle; Harry's not the one holding the camera, nor is Lara filling the cameraman role. That particular job has fallen to Campbell today. The Gear is shooting from rather high, bobbing slowly up and down as it tracks Harry. Every now and then, one of the Hoppip's leaves brushes past the lense, briefly obscuring the view in a blurry field of green.]

Can't say I'm complaining about the weather. Seems to have gone to Lara's head, though.

[Harry nods at the Smoochum walking beside him. She's dancing around airily, singing her little heart out like all the other Pokemon that are popping up.]

Kinda weird, really. Suppose I might worry, but it's actually sort of a refreshing change.

[Harry frowns for a second, but it's quickly replaced by an almost contented look. The weather's nice, the music's drowned out, and for once Lara isn't plotting some horrific prank. Why worry? He reaches the water and settles down, casting a line into the pond.]

These Lapras things ferry people across water, right? And they sound big enough that I won't accidentally crush it or something. Should be pretty useful.

Action behind the cut. )

[At first, the screen wobbles, showing mostly sky. The sounds of someone poking at the Pokegear can be heard, fingers brushing across the microphone.]

Always figured Hell’d be more fire and brimstone than this. Maybe infinite screenings of the Star Wars Christmas special. But no, me, I get little fiddly electronic things with unmarked buttons. Don't I feel special... and now I'm talking to myself. That can't be healthy.

[The screen steadies to reveal a tired-looking man poking around the screen on his Pokegear, looking a bit unsure. A curious Smoochum occasionally bounces up into frame, trying to see.]

Okay, the blinking HAL-9000 eye-of-death means this is going, right? Mab, Maeve, whoever's behind this, you’re not nearly as funny as you think. The background music is a nice touch, very impressive piece of magic, I have to admit. It's just catchy enough to stick in the head, just annoying enough to encourage experiments in self-trepanning.

Murphy, Molly, Thomas, if any of you are seeing this somehow... there are some things that I have to do alone, out of pride, or because the danger to others is too great. This is not one of those times, and if I ever say something is, I'm probably being stupid or being manipulated or both. But be careful. If I'm right, the Faeries aren't going to take too kindly to mortals poking their heads in.
